A Royal Treat – Colman’s Mustard Spicy Chocolate Popcorn

As a holder of the Royal Warrant since 1866, Colman’s of Norwich is considered a British staple. The company first enjoyed recognition as”Manufactures to Her Majesty the Queen Victoria.”  The then-Prince of Wales followed suit two years later by granting the company a Warrant as Purveyors to His Royal Highness. 

A royal warrant allows a supplier to advertise their association with royalty by adding a prestigious seal to their goods.

In honor of royal baby #2’s impending birth any day now, Colman’s is sharing family recipes with royal fans worldwide.

Spicy Chocolate Popcorn

Ingredients

• 1 bag buttered popcorn

• 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped dark chocolate)

• 1/4 cup milk

• 2 tsp Colman’s Mustard

• 1 Tbsp light Karo Syrup

Directions

Pop the popcorn according to package directions.

In small saucepan add chocolate chips and heat on low. Add milk and stir constantly until chocolate is melted and smooth. Add mustard and Karo syrup. Mix well.

Dump popcorn into bowl and pour chocolate mixture over popcorn.

Mix well and let sit until it cools.

Serve.
