Apologies for the delay in putting up stories about the Windsors from this weekend. I was soaked in equal parts Amaretto and Mexican dip.
There were few opportunities for a chat on Christmas Day, as the rain came down upon royal well-wishers outside the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Norfolk. William and Catherine (in a Sportmax coat) did not stop to greet people as they have in the past.
On Sunday, however, the Cambridges felt it was time for a do-over. So, they and the rest of the royal family gathered together and walked to service together.
After getting a security pat-down, people were able to greet the royals as they made their way to and from church (except for the Queen, who prefers to be driven to church).
A palace spokesperson told the Telegraph that Sunday’s service was not a public event.
“This was a private attendance. The Queen continues to worship over the festive period.”
Catherine wore her “Fairy Tale Hat” by Sylvia Fletcher for Lock & Co. with a Michael Kors virgin wool plaid blazer and “Trumpet” skirt, and her Aqutalia “Rhumba” boots.
Hats off to What Kate Wore and her eagle-eye fans for figuring this out.

Great minds think alike, because WKW mentioned that the outfit bears a striking resemblance to the Katherine Hooker tweed suit Catherine wore to Cheltenham in 2007.
On Christmas Eve, William and Harry played in an annual charity soccer match, in which the Sandringham employees go up against residents from Castle Rising, nearby village.
Last year, James Middleton took part in the game, further confirming my assumption this year, the Middletons did not join the Cambridges for Christmas.
