The only bummer: Prince George won’t be tagging along.
The visit is planned to emphasize the couple’s charitable endeavors, so there will be a big focus on the organizations that William and Catherine support, as well as the technological and creative partnerships between American and the United Kingdom. Upon their December 7th arrival, William and Catherine will attend a private reception with American Friends of the Royal Foundation.
On December 8th, W & C will watch an NBA game (courtside? Next to Bey & Jay?). While it’s hoped that Catherine will try one of New York’s most elegant delicacies (American-sized pretzel with too much salt), the purpose of that engagement is to launch a collaboration between the Royal Foundation, United for Wildlife and the NBA.
William will spend a day in Washington D.C. while Catherine will remain in New York to carry out two engagements in association with her charities. They will also attend a gala dinner at the Met for the University of St Andrews 600th Anniversary Campaign, of which William is a patron.
Though Her Majesty and Prince Harry have visited New York City before, this will be the couple’s first visit. In 2011, their North American tour took the Duke and Duchess to Los Angeles.
