Today, Denmark’s royal family welcomed Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and his wife, Angelica Rivera for a state visit at Copenhagen International Airport.
Crown Princess Mary, whose husband, Frederik, is the heir to the Danish throne, joined Queen Margrethe, Prince Consort Henrik, brother-in-law Prince Joachim, his wife, Princess Marie and the Queen’s younger sister, Princess Benedikte.

Mary, originally from Australia, adopted Denmark as her home country after marrying Frederik in 2004, and is fluent in the language. The two met at a bar during the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney (she had no idea he was a prince).

Back in August 2015, HELLO! Magazine readers voted Mary the most stylish royal, with Queen Maxima of the Netherlands landing second place, and the Duchess of Cambridge, third.

Today, she proved voters right with a beautiful ombre coat, cinched at the waist with a slim belt.
I’m still trying to ID the outfit, which looks to be pink, purple and blue.
It appears that a protester from Swedish activist group FEMEN flashed her boobs at the President and First Lady, but she was quickly arrested by police, according to Berlingske. It’s believed she was picketing for human rights in Mexico, since she was shouting in Spanish.
In 2014, said flasher reportedly interrupted a speech given by the Swedish Prime Minister.
Anyhoo…
Later on, everyone put on their ballgowns, tiaras and white tie tuxedos (black ties are for servants only, if Cousin Violet has taught us anything) for a gala at Fredensborg Palace in Copenhagen.

According to The Court Jeweller, Mary’s antique crown was recently purchased at an auction along with matching earrings.
Usually tiaras are handed down through generations, so this new addition is rather exciting for royal watchers.

Mary may have made the purchase in 2012 for under $6,000, but it looks like the set was kind of a fixer-upper (rubies and diamonds needed replacing, and the tiara may have originally been a necklace, so it required building).
What do you think of Mary’s coat?
