As is tradition, the royal family gathered together for a Christmas Day service at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the Queen’s Sandringham estate.

Catherine, who is five months pregnant, wore her Sylvia Fletcher for Lock & Co “Betty Boop” hat with a yet-to-be-ID’d brown overcoat (fear not, someone will figure it out), and double-leaf Catherine Zoraida earrings.

In an unprecedented move, Catherine’s family joined the royals for church.  Michael, Carole, Pippa and James Middleton are staying with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at their Anmer Hall home on the estate.

Well-wishers were disappointed, according to the Daily Mirror‘s Victoria Murphy, not to see Prince George waddling back from church.  However, the Daily Mail‘s Rebecca English spoke to local Sarah Neal, who said that her daughter, Maddison met George at church last Sunday.

Maddison met George on Sunday at the service at Anmer church. She helped him with his lantern and he blew her a kiss,” Neal said.

STOP.

Yesterday, James Middleton joined Prince Harry in an annual Christmas Eve football game.  In years past, Christmas celebrations were exclusively for the Queen’s family.  However, with William and Catherine’s new country home, it seems that the Middletons have been welcomed into the fold (although no word on whether they were invited to the Christmas Eve feast).

At 3pm GMT, Her Majesty’s annual Christmas message will be broadcast across the commonwealth.
