In 7th grade I asked a stylist to give me the “Rachel” cut, AND MY MOM ACTUALLY ALLOWED IT TO HAPPEN.
So when I read that the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly isn’t too “keen” on her bangs, I empathized.
According to The Sun, Catherine told friends that she’s not feeling the “mum fringe” celeb stylist Richard Ward created.
“I was a bit unsure about it,” Catherine allegedly admitted. “I call it my mum fringe.”
Word has it that the Queen has made “gentle suggestions” regarding Catherine’s hair ever since seeing her “glamour girl hair do” at Wimbledon. [Read more…]

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who are the best sports ever, joined ICAP’s brokers in its London office today to help close deals and boost trading volumes during ICAP charity day.
SkillForce, Sportsaid and Place2Be are among the charities benefiting from William and Catherine’s participation.

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge cross the border into Scotland, they’re known as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn. Today, the Strathearns popped up to Dundee for a day chock full of engagements focusing on mental health and young people. The trip to the city – which is not far from their alma mater, University of St. Andrews – included:
After four months of maternity leave (save for a July 26th visit to Portsmouth with the Duke of Cambridge), the Duchess of Cambridge visited the Anna Freud Centre in London, where she learned about how the charity is working to improve young people’s mental health care.
Freud, the sixth child of Sigmund Freud, founded the center in 1952. Today, Catherine toured the the King’s Cross site for the charity’s planned Community Campus.

Today, Catherine and Prince William joined Prince Charles for Sunday prayers at Crathie Kirk, on the property of Balmoral Castle. Catherine wore her burgundy Hobbs coat, according to What Kate Wore, an item that made its first appearance in February 2012

A few days ago I decided I would not go another day without trying to recreate one of Kate’s up dos. Knowing myself and the amount of tries that would lead to me sobbing into a $4 bottle of wine, I called on celebrity hair stylist Jonathan Colombini. Why? Because he knows what he’s doing, and he likes British television (the latter wasn’t exactly a pre-requisite, but isn’t that wonderful?)
Colombini is responsible for making Laura Prepon, Fergie and AnnaLynne McCord look hot-to-trot, and my hope is that he’ll one day work on Kate’s hair and confirm that it smells like lavender and loves a good G&T.

During a marathon session of Friends today and noticed the loveliness of Monica’s ex-boyfriend, Fun Bobby’s hair. So wavy, so luscious. Even when he was a total bummer off the bottle, Fun Bobby’s hair was run-your-fingers-through-it nice.
On a related note, let’s one-up Fun Bobby by showing him an even better head of hair. Despite remarks to the contrary, the Duchess of Cambridge‘s follicles are gorgeous without being too showy. Save for the “fringe” incident, Catherine’s hair has managed to mind its Ps & Qs while still remaining the envy of every salon-goer who points to a glossy and says, “I want that.” [Read more…]
