Prince George Leaves Justin Trudeau Hanging, Not Sorry About It

Prince George stepped off the private plane loaned to him and his family by the Canadian government on September 24th, only to be greeted by a sea of eager beavers frantically cheering.

Meh, he thought to himself.  So much noise.

Royal Tour of Canada, Day One: The Cambridges Arrive In Style

Watching live CTV coverage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s arrival in Victoria, Canada was exciting AF.

Sure, it was a little less exciting than their inaugural visit back in 2011, when the newlyweds – nay – everyone was basking in a post-royal wedding glow.

6 Canadian Moments That Defined Kate Middleton’s Style

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s 2011 tour of Canada was my first introduction to a royal tour (albeit from afar).

With the help of royal reporters on the ground, other bloggers and I were able to identify items that would come to be synonymous with the name “Kate Middleton.”

There were also, of course, quirks here and there that those of us who’ve been covering Her Royal Highness have come to recognize (hello, Marilyn Monroe moments!).

OTTAWA, ON - JULY 01: Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge arrive at Parliament Hill for Canada Day Celebrations on July 1, 2011 in Ottawa, Canada. Series creator Soren Sveistrup was chuffed about his UK fan based.

“Royalty is not the kind of audience you would expect. Prince Charles told me that it was Camilla who introduced him to The Killing,” Sveistrup said.

Later that year, royal reporter Katie Nicholl revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also fans of the series, bingeing on it “in a marathon session.”

The Absolute Best Photos From Will and Kate’s Indian Tour

It was a week jam-packed with visits, from feeding elephants to playing cricket and nearly everything in between.

It wasn’t a completely flawless trip – The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s press officers argued with the media about filming their Bhutanese hike, which highlighted their constance request for “private visits during the tour,” – but overall, it was success. [Read more…]

Gang’s all here!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Bhutan this morning after making one helluva landing.

Paro International Airport, nestled in the Himalayan Mountains,  is considered one of the most challenging airports in the world, and for that reason only eight pilots are qualified to land.

William and Catherine were invited into the cockpit as the pilot landed the plane.  Prior to their descent, everyone on board (including the British press) was told not to “be alarmed” by the landing, which the captain promised would be “unique” and “spectacular,” according to the Daily Mail‘s Victoria Murphy.  [Read more…]
