Any royal occasion is cause for celebration, but for Heir & Grace owner Anna Evans, the birth of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge meant doing some good as well.

Following Charlotte’s May 2nd birth, Evans’ Windsor-based luxury brand introduced a new limited-edition candle known simply as “Charlotte.”  Each of the 100 candles is hand-signed and marked with an edition number.

“We essentially wanted to created a modern, fresher take on the classic cotton fragrance to represent the fresh, white cotton we imagine Charlotte will be wrapped in,” a rep for Heir & Grace explained via email.

The site describes Charlotte’s rose and freesia-based scent as having a distinctly “warm, milky aroma of sandalwood” with “a fresh, floral fragrance running through it.” One’s nose will also be able to detect “fruity notes of crisp apple, watermelon and cassis.”

100% of the profits from the “Charlotte” candle will be donated to the Sebastian’s Action Trust, a cause which support families of seriously-ill children and works to ensure that they get quality time together to relax, recharge and rebuild, never having to face life alone.

Sebastian’s Action Trust has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

“We are absolutely delighted that Heir & Grace has chosen our charity to benefit from the sales of their exclusive candles. As a charity that supports families of seriously-ill children we understand that each birth is precious and proceeds raised will go a long way to provide emotional, practical and social support for those who need it the most.” CEO Jane Gates, OBE, said in a statement.

The Duchess of Cambridge, herself a patron of charities that support terminally-ill children, would not doubt be pleased about this partnership.

“In a time when lots of big brands are using the Royal Baby as a profit making exercise, we wanted to use it as a chance to do something good, to help those less fortunate than us, even with this small gesture,” Evans said

Heir & Grace sent a candle to William and Catherine, as well as one to Charlotte’s great grandmother, the Queen, at Windsor Castle.
