Tonight, the Duke and Duchess attended a reception at Kensington Palace, where they met young Indian and Bhutanese people living in the United Kingdom.
This was an opportunity for Their Royal Highnesses to learn more about each country’s people, culture and history. It was also an opportunity for the guests to be in the presence of Kate Middleton.
According to royal fashion bible What Kate Wore, Catherine chose Saloni‘s “Mary” illusion dress for the occasion. She first wore a piece by the Indian designer for a Fostering Network engagement in November 2015.
The sheer bodice gives the illusion of a plunging neckline, a saucy choice for the usually reserved royal (I’m also digging the keyhole in the back). She paired the floor-length dress with her Cassandra Goad “Temple of Heaven” earrings.
Catherine talked food with model Neelam Gill, boasting that her stomach could handle spices better than Prince William’s.
“She told me that she loved Indian food so I told her that she’d be fine with the spices,” Gill said, according to the Daily Mail.
“But William told me that he struggles with the spices so I told him to watch out.”
Yeah, that happens with us left-handers.
Gill, who herself boasts an impressive resume posing for Burberry, Vogue and Dior, was starstruck by the Cambridges.
“For my generation [William and Kate] have always seemed cool and approachable and I felt they were just that in person. It was really sweet seeing them as a couple,” she said.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will tour India and Bhutan from April 10th-16th. This will be the first trip to both countries for the couple.
Earlier in the day, William attended a reception at Wembley to mark ten years as President of the Football Association.
“Football is our national game,” the Duke said in a speech. “It is an incredibly powerful force for bringing people together, uniting people of all walks of life.”
England’s Football Association was left fuming after FIFA officials were accused of corruption in 2015. The Prince, along with David Beckham and Prime Minister David Cameron, put it a bid in to host the 2018 and lost.
In handsome ginger news, Harry started off the day by meeting the newly unveiled UK team for the 2016 Invictus Games, to be held in Orlando next month.
According to People, Harry will take part in a polo match on May 4th in Palm Beach, FL, just four days ahead of the games. The Prince will be supporting one of his beloved charities, Sentebale, set up in his mother’s honor to help HIV-afflicted young people in Lesotho, Africa.
