As the rest of the audience sat quietly (I think) in the rows of St. Paul’s Cathedral, Prince Harry made the Duchess of Cambridge giggle.
And it was great.
One thing to know about the royal family is that they love when things go wrong at formal events.

Yes, they respect and acknowledge the hard work that has gone into said event, but when there’s a blip, there’s a giggle.

On June 10th, Members of the royal family (53, to be exact) attended a national service of Thanksgiving in honor of the Queen’s 90th birthday.
The Very Reverend David Ison commenced the service by praising Her Majesty for “faithful devotion, dutiful commitment, loving leadership, gentle constancy, royal dignity and kindly humanity.

“And, as we give thanks for Her Majesty, so also do we give thanks for Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and all the Royal Family: for mutual love and support and for service to this country and to the Commonwealth.”
Happily enough, Prince Philip turned 95 on Friday, though you’d never know it because he’s said to despise being wished a Happy Birthday.
I love him.

Lady Louise Windsor looked fantastic for the occasion; according to HRH The Countess of Wessex blog, the Queen’s 12-year-old granddaughter wore a pink Zara coat over a Dolce & Gabbana dress, topped off with a Jane Taylor headband.

The Queen, always the last to arrive per protocol, arrived at the service ten minutes late, according to The Telegraph (via What Kate Wore).
“Apparently the Queen was delayed by 10 minutes because of a traffic accident at Embankment, but as the crowds caught sight of the vehicle they cheered.”

Her Majesty donned an exquisite yellow coat and matching hat by her personal dresser, Angela Kelly.

Princess Eugenie wore a gorgeous red dress by Eponine, and while I know that most weren’t in love with Beatrice’s Burberry Prorsum coat, I absolutely loved it.

After, most members of the royal family attended a luncheon at Guildhall, while the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall attended a reception at Buckingham Palace for visiting Governors-General.

The Queen and Prince Philip’s children, The Duke of York, the Earl of Wessex and his wife, the Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence.
