Pippa Middleton will wed Eden Roc Capital Management CEO James Matthews next year, and like any bride-to-be, Middleton is going full steam ahead with wedding plans.
Middleton, 33, was hoping to hire Adele to sing at the nuptials, a source told Us Weekly.
Then she realized that someone as talented as Adele could command up to $1 million for an appearance.
Best to put together an Adele playlist instead, love.
“Pippa realized how expensive she’d be!” the source said.
With her background in party planning, the source said Middleton “has been really hands-on” with planning her wedding.
She was spotted at Lavender Green Flowers in London on September 13th checking out the ivory and lace bridal bouquets.
“Pippa took tons of photos on her phone and was really excited.”
Middleton’s floral arrangement may be a stark contrast to the bouquet her older sister carried for her April 2011 wedding to Prince William, which was comprised of myrtle, lily-of-the-valley, hyacinth, and sweet William blooms.
Stems from a myrtle planted by Queen Victoria in 1845 were also added, per tradition for royal brides.
The theme of the wedding sounds like it’ll be English countryside, an apt decision given that Matthews proposed to Middleton in the lakes district.
“Pippa doesn’t want it to be too expensive or look gaudy,” the source said.
As for what role the Duchess of Cambridge will play, most of us who cover royalty assume that Her Royal Highness will not serve as a maid-of-honor, since it’s a little below her station to do so.
Instead, Catherine might give a reading or get involved in a more subtle way.
Catherine’s children, however, could very well be part of the bridal party.
Prince William and Prince Harry were both in family weddings as children; William was in Prince Andrew and Fergie’s 1986 wedding, while Harry served as a page boy at his his maternal uncle, Charles Spencer’s 1989 nuptials to first wife Victoria Lockwood.
