You would think that as a (mediocre) writer, I’d be able to articulate my feelings about the Duchess of Cambridge’s outfits for day one of the royal tour.
But I can’t. To borrow a bunch of phrases from the Kardashians/Rachel Zoe/Millenials, I legit CANNOT.
Catherine blew royal fans away with her three sartorial choices today, all a nod to either Indian designers or the country’s vibrant culture.
When William and Catherine landed on a British Airways flight, they attended a memorial for victims of the 2008 bombing at the Taj Palace Hotel.
For this occasion, Catherine chose a maroon patterned peplum suit from Alexander McQueen’s pre-fall 2016 collection, according to What Kate Wore.
I think many of Catherine’s fans will be glad to see her change-up the footwear, switching her from tried-and-true LK Bennett “Sledge” heels to the brand’s “Fern” stilettos, where feature a more triangular toe.
She topped off the look with her Cassandra Goad Temple of Heaven earrings and a Russell & Bromley Clutch.
After the ceremony, Catherine changed into a bright tunic dress by Anita Dongre, a look that may break into my top five.
The Duke and Duchess took part in a cricket game (wearing their Ray-Bans) as well as other activities with children.
Finally, day one ended with a gala, where William and Catherine rubbed elbows with Bollywood stars.
Catherine wore a blue Jenny Packham gown with a cape, the beading of which was done in India. She topped off the look with Amrapali drop earrings.
Kate’s @amrapalijewels blue lapis earrings from last night are a one-off and cost £1,360 from the Knightsbridge store #RoyalVisitIndia

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t help himself after meeting Catherine.
“Is it ok to say she’s extremely beautiful and elegant?” he asked reporters. “Well she is! If they spend more time here I think they’ll love it. ‘I could definitely show them a good time! I’ll take them out.”
William gave a speech at the gala, according to the Daily Mail, mentioning how thrilled he and Catherine were to be in India.
“When Catherine and I were married, India was the first place on Catherine’s list that she told me that she wanted to visit,” he said.
“Two children and five years later, we have finally made it – and we are both honoured to be here.”
