Welcome to the 5th anniversary of the best day of my life.
Without rambling on about how much I love to cover the life and times of royalty, let us oogle over photos that defined one of the most magnificent days in recent history.

It was the Duchess of Cambridge’s wish that any details pertaining to her gown would be a surprise until her and Prince William’s wedding day.
Media outlets immediately started to speculate on who landed the job. Bruce Oldfield? Diana’s wedding dress designers, David and Elizabeth Emanuel? Temperley London?
In March, it leaked that Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen had been tapped to create Catherine’s wedding gown. [Read more…]

I have SO many thoughts about this.
First off, this coming Friday marks five years since the royal wedding.
To celebrate the union of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, it’s key that we remember moments leading up to and during the greatest live event of our time.
Fans (me) were insatiable when it came to wedding plans for April 29th, 2011.
Who would design Catherine’s dress? What would her and William’s titles be? Are there really going to be trees inside Westminster Abbey (my father’s question)? [Read more…]
It was a week jam-packed with visits, from feeding elephants to playing cricket and nearly everything in between.
It wasn’t a completely flawless trip – The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s press officers argued with the media about filming their Bhutanese hike, which highlighted their constance request for “private visits during the tour,” – but overall, it was success. [Read more…]

Gang’s all here!
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Bhutan this morning after making one helluva landing.
Paro International Airport, nestled in the Himalayan Mountains, is considered one of the most challenging airports in the world, and for that reason only eight pilots are qualified to land.

William and Catherine were invited into the cockpit as the pilot landed the plane. Prior to their descent, everyone on board (including the British press) was told not to “be alarmed” by the landing, which the captain promised would be “unique” and “spectacular,” according to the Daily Mail‘s Victoria Murphy. This is friggin’ precious.
Day 4 of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s India tour was easily the most entertaining, because BABY ELEPHANTS and BABY RHINOS.
The morning kicked off with an open-air drive around Kaziranga National Park, a World Heritage site. [Read more…]

It’s just past 5am in in New Delhi, and here I am on Eastern Time writing up the happenings from day 3 of the royal tour.
I think my favorite dress from the tour so far is Catherine’s Temperley London “Desdemona” lace dress, worn for a lunch meeting today with the Prime Minister in New Delhi.

Catherine’s color is part of Temperley’s Autumn collection (on pre-order), but the white version is currently available.

You wait and wait for a soundbite on these tours, expecting it to come from either the Duke or Duchess of Cambridge.
Tonight, that soundbite came from a guest at the Queen’s 90th Birthday Garden Party in New Delhi, who was so delighted to be in the presence of greatness that he plum forgot his manners.

Professor Bulbul Dhar-James, who teaches political science at Jamia Millia Islamia University, thought nothing of asking Her Royal Highness how she keeps it right and tight.
UPDATE 4/11/16 at 7:36pm ET: Twitter user @Hovikirjeenvaih informed me that Professor Bulbul Dhar-James is actually a woman.
“We said ‘how do you lose all the weight after having two kids?’ And she said ‘I am running after my kids,'” the academic said, according to the Daily Mail‘s Rebecca English.
While Catherine’s team was off sampling the gin & tonic bar, Professor Dhar-James continued asking slightly inappropriate questions. [Read more…]
