Milliner Juliette Botterill Knows How To Make a Hat POP (Just Ask Eug and Bea)

We the People of the United States need to take a page from the mother country and start wearing hats on special occasions.

I’m not talking about gluing toys on a wide-brim hat and taking it to the races.  I’m talking about beautifully crafted objects of art that sit daintily atop one’s head.

One milliner who recently caught my attention does just that.  London-based Juliette Botterill worked for uber-famous designer Philip Treacy before breaking out on her own.

Princess Charlene and Her Glorious Earrings Attend The 68th Annual Red Cross Ball

Last night, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene arrived at  the Salle des Etoiles in Monaco to officially open this year’s Red Cross Gala, an event that thanks donors for making it possible for the organization to carry out its work.

Charlene wore the most glorious lilac gown that looked hand-painted (and was no doubt custom-made).

Crown Princess Mary Covers Australian Vogue Again, Looks Regal AF

If Vogue invites you to cover their magazine, you leave the denim at home, break out the couture, and have granny unlock the jewel vault.

This is precisely what Crown Princess of Mary did for the August cover of Australian Vogue, her second since marrying the heir to the Danish throne in 2004.

EACH Gala Dinner: Duchess of Cambridge Glitters In Pink Jenny Packham

Oh my sparkles, am I delighted that Her Royal Highness chose to re-wear that gorgeous, show-stopping Jenny Packham gown we first saw five years ago at the ARK gala.

The setting sun in King’s Lynn, England provided perfect lighting for Catherine’s entire look, which consisted of a chic AF up do, the Queen’s chandelier earrings and those darling L.K. Bennett bow heels.

The Duchess of Cambridge Brings Her Accessory A-Game to Northern Ireland

Since she and Prince William traveled to Northern Ireland today, the couple were known as the Baron and Barroness of Carrickfergus (just like that lovely blond in The Sound of Music).

The trip took them to a garden party at Hillsborough Castle in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which  – according to the Daily Mail – is always attended by a senior royal. [Read more…]

Kate Middleton’s Red Outfits: Which One Is Your Favorite?

One of my nearest and dearest texted me today after seeing the Duchess of Cambridge in a red coat dress by Catherine Walker at the 2016 Order of the Garter ceremony.

“Catherine’s outfit today is one of the best yet. Maybe the best,” she wrote, describing the coat as “magical” and the overall look as “conservative, but sexy” (though, she pointed out, it could fit a little more snug on the shoulders).

I found this interesting, because royal fans were divided on today’s look, which also featured a Lock & Co. fascinator first seen at the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Thames River pageant, as well as Robinson Pelham acorn earrings (a wedding present from her parents). [Read more…]

Kate Middleton Wears New Roland Mouret Gown, Twitter Is PSYCHED

Hear ye, hear ye. The Duchess of Cambridge has left her lace and other recyclable couture at home for SportsAid’s 40th anniversary dinner at Kensington Palace.

Join me, won’t you, as I celebrate a new number by Roland Mouret so regal (blue) and so elegant that it deserves pride of place in “Gorgeous Royal Ball Gowns” (coming soon).

Because both Kate’s Closet and What Kate Wore are the best at ID’ing Catherine’s clothing, we have details on the gorgeous gown that goes by two names: “Nanset Cutout Stretch-Crepe Gown” and “Cold-Shoulder Fluted Gown.” [Read more…]

Lady Charlotte Wellesley May Have Won The Bridal Gown Game

Someone notify the tailor.  I’ll need that McQueen photo tacked to the bottom of the wedding dress dream board.

Liz Lemon found one so grand and so splendid that she assured Jerry Seinfeld it would gets its moment in the sun, no matter what.

Kate Repeats Garden-Worthy Catherine Walker Coat For Chelsea Flower Show

It’s about as British as Royal Ascot (perhaps even more so), and today the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show held its press day for members of the media, as well as those from the royal family.
