Australia Gives Prince Harry The Best Farewell Ever

There is no better way to bid adieu to a country than to be proposed to, as was the case with Prince Harry today in Australia.  After his month-long attachment to the Australian Defense Force wrapped up, Harry greeted throngs of people outside the famous Sydney Opera House today.

“All it’s done is made me not want to finish my military career,” Harry, who announced back in March that he’d be leaving the army, said of his time with the ADF.   “I’ve been so well looked after.”

1984: Prince William Meets His New Brother, Harry

As any firstborn can tell you, the arrival of a sister or brother is….fine.  My sister was born a little over two years after me, and I vaguely remember wearing a blue peacoat as I visited the new addition.  I think I remember wailing as my mother waved to me from her hospital window, wondering why the hell she had to stay there when I had to be taken care of.

Since then, we welcomed another sister, and by that point I was more interested in swimming and tic tacs than seeing a newborn (neither will read this post, and if they do, I REGRET NOTHING).

Kensington Palace Confirms That Prince Harry Will Leave The Armed Forces

Prince Harry Visits Field Remembrance 2014

Splash News

Last month, reports circulated that Prince Harry would leave the armed forces later this year.  According to Royal Central, Kensington Palace announced today that Harry will indeed leave  in order to focus more on his charities, among them Sentebale and Walking With The Wounded.  He’ll spend a month of training in Australia in April and May, after which he will step down from his duties.

As a Commissioned Officer in the Household Cavalry, Harry took up a Staff Officer role in 2014 so that he could coordinate projects and events in London.  His Royal Highness also took part in a trek to Antarctica to raise funds and awareness for Walking With The Wounded, and launched the hugely successful Invictus Games last September.  [Read more…]

Emma Watson Delivers a Blow to Royal Fans

Yes, we may have been more than a little excited at the prospect of tea towels bearing the name “Hermione, Countess of Muggleton.”  Instead, we took the high road and chose not to believe Woman’s Day‘s claims that Emma Watson and Prince Harry had been on “secret dates.”

This morning, Watson gently put those rumors to rest with a chocolate-covered message to her followers: [Read more…]

This morning, I awoke to a text from my sister.

“The royals are on Twitter,” she wrote.

I’m afraid we won’t be reading any hysterical pregnancy tweets from Catherine, nor 140 characters of drunk rambling from Prince Harry anytime soon, since “the royals are on Twitter” means something a bit more buttoned-up.  [Read more…]

When he was just 14-months-old, Rio Woolf underwent a through-knee amputation. He was born without a tibia, knee or ankle joint, a rare condition called Tibial Aplasia.  These days, the six-year-old is inspired by the Paralympics and, most recently, the Invictus Games, with hopes to one day become part of the games.

Royal Central recently spoke to Woolf and his mother, Juliette about meeting Prince Harry at the Invictus Games.
