William and Kate Take a Seat In Front of Iconic Taj Mahal

Today, before they returned home to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge payed tribute to the late Princess of Wales in Agra, India.

Gang’s all here!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Bhutan this morning after making one helluva landing.

Paro International Airport, nestled in the Himalayan Mountains,  is considered one of the most challenging airports in the world, and for that reason only eight pilots are qualified to land.

William and Catherine were invited into the cockpit as the pilot landed the plane.  Prior to their descent, everyone on board (including the British press) was told not to “be alarmed” by the landing, which the captain promised would be “unique” and “spectacular,” according to the Daily Mail‘s Victoria Murphy.  [Read more…]

This is friggin’ precious.

Day 4 of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s India tour was easily the most entertaining, because BABY ELEPHANTS and BABY RHINOS.

It’s just past 5am in in New Delhi, and here I am on Eastern Time writing up the happenings from day 3 of the royal tour.

I think my favorite dress from the tour so far is Catherine’s Temperley London “Desdemona” lace dress, worn for a lunch meeting today with the Prime Minister in New Delhi.

Catherine’s color is part of Temperley’s Autumn collection (on pre-order), but the white version is currently available.

William And Kate Take India: Day One

You would think that as a (mediocre) writer, I’d be able to articulate my feelings about the Duchess of Cambridge’s outfits for day one of the royal tour.

But I can’t.  To borrow a bunch of phrases from the Kardashians/Rachel Zoe/Millenials, I legit CANNOT.

Catherine blew royal fans away with her three sartorial choices today, all a nod to either Indian designers or the country’s vibrant culture.

When William and Catherine landed on a British Airways flight, they attended a memorial for victims of the 2008 bombing at the Taj Palace Hotel.

For this occasion, Catherine chose a maroon patterned peplum suit from Alexander McQueen’s pre-fall 2016 collection, according to What Kate Wore.

I think many of Catherine’s fans will be glad to see her change-up the footwear, switching her from tried-and-true LK Bennett “Sledge” heels to the brand’s “Fern” stilettos, where feature a more triangular toe. [Read more…]

In Their Element: 11 Delightful Photos of Royals and Animals

It’s a well-known fact that Britain’s royal family would prefer the company of horses and dogs to humans, and several people close to the Queen have said that if she weren’t the sovereign, she’d be living a quiet life in the country.

In February, Prince William was accused of living like a “gentleman country farmer,” since he and the Duchess of Cambridge opt to spend a majority of their family life in Norfolk, 120 miles from London.

Prince Philip once famously said of his daughter, Princess Anne’s love for horses, “if it doesn’t fart or eat hay, then she isn’t interested.” [Read more…]

Tonight, the Duke and Duchess attended a reception at Kensington Palace, where they met young Indian and Bhutanese people living in the United Kingdom.

This was an opportunity for Their Royal Highnesses to learn more about each country’s people, culture and history.  It was also an opportunity for the guests to be in the presence of Kate Middleton.

According to royal fashion bible What Kate Wore, Catherine chose Saloni‘s “Mary” illusion dress for the occasion.  She first wore a piece by the Indian designer for a Fostering Network engagement in November 2015. [Read more…]

Dr. Anna Whitelock is a professor of early modern history at Royal Holloway University (where yours truly studied abroad), as well as the director of The London Centre for Public History.  Having predicted that the British monarchy will be O-V-E-R by 2030, she has earned the “bearer of bad news” title for Monday, April 4th. Playing Favorites: Kate Middleton’s White Alexander McQueen Coat

I remember the first time I laid eyes on it.

The date: June 11th, 2011.

The Occasion: Trooping of the Colour, the official celebrations of the monarch’s birthday.

Ah, what a site to behold.  The cinching at the waist, the tiered skirt…it was a coat I shall always covet. [Read more…]

Monaco’s Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques: Their Cutest Photos

PLS Pool/Getty Images

On December 10th, 2014, Princess Gabriella of Monaco, Countess of Carladès was born at the Princess Grace Hospital, named after her paternal grandmother.

Two minutes later, her brother, Jacques did the ole’ “leapfrog” and  became the Hereditary Prince of Monaco, and will one day inherit the throne from his father, Prince Albert II.

Because to primogeniture (which was done away with in other royal households like Sweden and Great Britain), Jacques outranks Gabriella by virtue of being a male, despite her being older.

Enough with the technicalities.  Let’s coo over baby photos!  [Read more…]
