Prince Oscar: Swedish Royals Share Darling Photo of Newborn

Today is cute royal kids day, it seems (one is not complaining).

First, Kensington Palace released family photos of the Cambridges, then this little nugget posed for/slept through his first photocall.

Sweden’s Prince Oscar (born on March 2nd) snoozed as the cameras snapped away at Haga Palace, where the baby prince lives with his older sister, Princess Estelle and parents, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.

The Daily Mail confirmed with the Swedish court that Victoria took the photo of her son, much like the Duchess of Cambridge did when Princess Charlotte was born. [Read more…]

You have to hand it to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for pulling off a fantastic photo op just as the media was finished tearing Prince William apart.

Many have accused the Duke of being “workshy,” and shirking his royal responsibilities in favor of spending time with his family at their Norfolk, England home.

“No one really wants to admit it openly, but it was the talk of Sandringham over Christmas that he does nothing,” a source told the Sun‘s Emily Andrews last month. [Read more…]

Sweden’s Royal Baby Named HRH Prince Oscar Carl Olof

Roughly twelve hours after his birth, the Swedish monarchy has announced the name of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s son.

King Carl Gustaf XVI announced at a Council of State meeting that his new grandson would be named HRH Prince Oscar Carl Olof.

The Council of State is held on the occasion of a royal birth, according to the monarchy’s official site.

“The King convenes the Council of State in accordance with Chapter 5, Article 3 of the Instrument of Government, which states that the Government shall hold a Council of State chaired by the Head of State,” the website explains.  [Read more…]

You have to hand it to a Princess who goes the distance when it comes to making children smile.

This is exactly what Princess Madeleine of Sweden did last week, when she hosted a tea party for Swedish Charity, My Special Day (Min Stora Dag), which helps to make dreams come true for children with serious illnesses.

As patron of the charity, Madeleine and her daughter, Princess Leonore, invited twelve children, ranging from ages 5-8, to the palace for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. [Read more…]

It’s only February and already I regret not getting a Smythson.

Why on earth did I listen to James and get the gauche Hermes?  I should have shopped local.  Kept it British.  Let George do the selecting instead.

What am I writing about?  Right, the trip to Edinburgh for Place2Be and tennis fun with Andy’s mum.

Tash had my Sportmax coat neatly kept since I wore it on Christmas Day, so I paired that with a knit and a lovely skirt by Le Kilt.

Going north of the border is a bit of a buzz kill because of the title downgrade.  No wonder Sophie cozies up to granny so often.  “Countess” gets you nowhere, and it must be a dreadful cross to bear all the time. [Read more…]

Anglesey, Wales is a special place for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.  Even before their wedding, the royal couple moved into a darling farmhouse on the island while Prince William worked as a search-and-rescue pilot  for RAF Valley.
